"This is what took my surfing to the NEXT LEVEL" - T. Knox
A gifted natural athlete, were he not a professional surfer, one could easily imagine San Diego’s Taylor Knox excelling at any number of other sports. As one of the core members of the early-90’s New School movement, Taylor surfed his way onto the radar through a number of highly-charged video appearances. In 1998, Taylor suddenly jumped into the spotlight by paddling in to a monster wave at Todos Santos to win the inaugural Billabong Big-Wave Challenge. From there, Taylor worked his way on to the WCT circuit where he remains a popular figure with his fellow competitors.
Paul Hiniker grew up in Carlsbad, California, where he cultivated a love of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding at an early age. His love of sports led him toward a career in fitness, and in 1986 he began working as a personal trainer. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and he holds numerous professional certifications:
Today, Paul is an elite trainer at Frog’s Fitness in Encinitas, where he specializes in alignment of the musculoskeletal system, flexibility and sports-specific strength. Though he no longer competes professionally, Paul still surfs daily and trains regularly with pro surfers Taylor Knox, Adam Knox, Ricky Whitlock, and Jay Thompson. He also trains with pro skateboarders Pat Duffy, Danny Way and Jake Brown as well as pro snowboarders Kevin Pearce, Matt Ladley, and Taylor Gold.
